OUR PRE-SEASON ACADEMY 

 

A 4-week pre-season coaching program in February 2021 designed for school children aged from 7-17 years.  Players register for an hour session each week for the duration of the Academy at the venue of their choice: Elsdon (Porirua); Fraser Park (Lower Hutt); and NHS (Wellington)).

 

OUR PHILOSOPHY APPLIED

 

SMALL GROUPS with a high coach to player ratio is very important. We focus on LEARNING as the optimum outcome for players. Our philosophy allows us to give maximum amount of feedback to each individual.

 

OUR VISION FOR OUR ACADEMY

 

The vision of our Academy is to offer young hockey players the chance to UPSKILL their knowledge and hockey ability with quality coaching in a fun environment alongside their peers.  Our aim is to IMPROVE every player and teach NEW SKILLS through fun and innovative techniques.  We time our Academy for February to help players grow confidence for the upcoming season while maintaining balance with their other interests and activities.

FEES

The cost of participating in our Academy is $120 per player for the 4 weeks.  This fee is to be paid on registration.

This year we are proud to offer one scholarship per venue to assist individual players new to Upskill Hockey Coaching to participate where, for reasons of financial hardship, they would otherwise be unable to do so.  Click HERE for more information.

COVID AND CANCELLATIONS

Subject to public health and NZ/Wellington Hockey advice otherwise, we would expect to operate at Covid Alert Levels 1 and 2 with the appropriate health measures put in place.  However, we retain our right in our sole discretion to cancel the pre-season academy for health and safety reasons relating to players or coaches at any Covid alert level.  If we do so, we will endeavour to provide as much notice as reasonably possible, and full refunds will be available.
